what is Credit system

  • a student GET minimum passing marks, then student is allotted full credits in that particular subject.
  •  a student fails to get minimum passing marks in any subject, the student is provided with Zero (0) Credits.
  • On the basis of these credits scored by a student, result status may vary. It can be pass, PCP, PCP-A, or Fail. Below is the full explanation on what these different outcomes mean.
fail condition : – 
If this status fail is allotted in your result, it means that you have to re appear for the examinations in same academic year and you will not be promoted to next year. This is also known as year back .

Pass condition  : If a student gets full credits in all the subjects including theory and practical, then the student is declared as Pass.

PCP condition : Pass with carry over papers. This status is allotted and student is allowed to be promoted to next year. This status is provided when the student has scored minimum of 24 or more credits in theory subjects and minimum of 8 credits in practical subjects. GP Credits will not be counted in the above score.
PCP- A condition : This status is provided to students and is promoted to next academic year. This is provisional. Means that the student in this case have to score 26 or more credits in theory subjects and 8 or more credits in practical subjects by appearing in carryover exam. In case a student will fail to fulfill this condition, the PCP-A status shall be changed to Fail.


                                           UPTU B.Tech Year back rule condition

1. first of all if you got minimum passing marks including practical and external exam both 40% if he/she  got 40% marks then promote next academic  year.
2. the minimum passing  marks in theory subject  he/she obtained in theory examination 30 marks out of 100 and 24 marks out of 80 and also 15 marks out of 50 then he/she promote to next academic year.
3. the candidate must be pass include both sem ( old as well as even )12 subject out of 8 then he/she promote next academic year.
4. the minimum passing marks in seminar education tour,Viva-Voice  and other industrial training  minimum marks shall be 50%(only valid for final year students ).
if candidate full fill all those condition then promote next academic year.

    sir meri 2nd year me total 5 back hai or total no.955 or total credit 31 hai.or mai 5th sem ka paper v de diya hu pr result show nhi kr rha hai. or mai 6th sem ka study v kr rha hu. mere college ke resistror bola ki tum promot ho jawoge aage ki tyari kro.. kya sahi bol rhe h resistror ya mujhe fasaya ja rha h .plz sir repily me

    I have 15 marks out of 50 but 14 in internal . Thats why I got carry in cbnst ..but will I get credits for that subject?
